Ribbed Winter Hat: Free Crochet Pattern
October 7th, 2017 | Leave a comment | by Nea
Well here goes my first non-amigurumi pattern. Hope you like it!
I first had the idea for this hat in 2015 and made a version for my dad at that point. I was very happy with the result then and so was my dad, he still uses it during winter. So, I thought why not make a pattern out of it?
I’m so lucky to have a family full of great looking people who can model my creations. Today my Ribbed Winter Hat is modeled by my oldest brother and his girlfriend!
The pattern itself is pretty straight forward as it is almost only crocheted using front and back post double crochets. The resulting hat is really warm and has a nice stretchy feel to it. The pompom is obviously optional but I think it’s really cute, you don’t have to make it as huge as I made mine though. You could also make the hat tall enough so that it can be folded to form a brim.
About the pattern
You can buy a bundle of two beautifully formatted PDF versions of this pattern on Etsy. One version uses color, while the other is made in black and white to be more printer friendly.
